Non Destructive Testing of Welds and Structures
We can provide non-destructive testing (NDT) of steel components and structures.
NDT is often referred to as crack testing or crack detection. Typically welds and other stress points are tested to check for cracks not visible to the naked eye. The system we use is based on fine magnetic particles.
The first picture on the right shows a mast brace that fractured due to fatigue failure. See the red circle and magnified image.
Cracks started by fatigue failure are often invisible to the naked eye, but NDT can be using to highlight them, giving you the opportunity to repair components prior to catastrophic failure.
